I needed a bookcase to place all my quilting books so I ventured across Brisbane to the only IKEA store in SE Queensland. Prepared with a list, I ran through all the departments until I reached the warehouse and grabbed the 50kg double, glass door bookcase, four plastic basket inserts, a rubbish bin, light globes. a set of castors and some small storage boxes. In a moment of weakness I glanced across to the textile department and found these beautiful fabrics. They just had to come home with me.

I've never really looked at the textiles at Ikea, but I always see others with some great finds! Might have to check it out some time. Sadly our only Ikea is on the other side of Melbourne.
ReplyDeleteI need to go to Ikea!!!
ReplyDeletewow...they are nice!
ReplyDeleteI had no idea IKEA had textiles! There is not one close to me, but I wonder if the U.S. Ikea's also have textiles. IF so, it is a new addition. I'll have to check. I love the fabrics. They are so contemporary. You should have a good time turning them into quilts!
ReplyDeleteI love the fabrics at IKEA! I really want to get one of the large EXPEDIT bookcases for the craft room to put all my crafty stuff on rather than in a closet that will make everything damn near impossible to locate, but can't justify the purchase. Perhaps I could make little suggestions here and there until my other half declares what a great idea that bookcase would be. Hmmm... time to plot.
ReplyDeleteIkea's fabrics are great and such good value. I haven't been for awhile but I always have a great time when I get there. I've got an Ikea card so you get free cups of tea and I always have one of the yummy vegetarian breakfasts for about $2. I do love a bargain.
ReplyDeleteI did not know that Ikea sold fabrics I never go there it's to easy to get lost in there I wish I had known you were going there was it the springwood store you went to I dont live far from there I could have had A coffee with you.
